Elizabeth Hotel London Review Of One Of The City's Inexpensive London Hotels

Our Elizabeth Hotel London review (one of the city's inexpensive London hotels)  mainly details our experiences of a half-term break to visit family in North London whilst wanting to stay near central London for the shopping. For these purposes, the Elizabeth hotel was fine for a utility break, or even a quick business stopover, but we probably wouldn't recommend it for anything special like a honeymoon in London or a luxury break. For convenient location though, and moderate pricing with quick transport links to the rest of London it was very good.

As far as organization went, we didn't have any problems with our booking and checked in fine, finding the staff very helpful and polite. We knew we would have a bit of a walk to the popular shopping streets, so didn't mind as we liked being so close to Hyde Park. The nearest London Transport tube station is Lancaster Gate anyway, so we just hopped on the underground to get to Leicester Square.

Decor-wise, we would have to say that the interior design was a bit dated ! If you're looking for value for money and a central location however, you won't mind that the hotel still looks like something out of the eighties in places. The breakfast was also a bit boring - we used Marks and Spencer in Oxford Street for some tasty pastries and croissants, fruit and jam conserve!

On the plus side, we were pleasantly surprised by the size of our room, which although old-fashioned, was clean. We were concerned that the shower might be old too, but when we tried it, the power was fine and the water was hot.

The plusses for this hotel then, were central London value for money on the prices and the friendliness and welcome from the staff. Crucial question - would we stay there again? The answer is , yes, we probably would as we wouldn't want to pay any more.

Great - Im so pleased it was a help - remember not to expect the Ritz, more homely and a much better price.
